Before Your Treatment

  • ONE MONTH BEFORE Avoid dental work, oral surgery, and immunizations. Wait at least 2 weeks after treatment before scheduling these procedures.
  • 7 DAYS BEFORE Avoid, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve (NSAIDS) and herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Omega-3 capsules.

If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor before stopping blood thinners.
  • 48 HOURS BEFORE No alcoholic beverages.
  • 24 HOURS BEFORE Ensure you are well-hydrated in preparation for your treatment.

Day of Your Treatment

  • Please arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, creams, gels, or lotions on the treatment areas.
  • To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied.
  • A small amount of your blood will be drawn and centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components. After a heating and cooling process, the growth factors form a fibrin matrix, which is then ready to be injected
  • The PRF Gel is injected into target treatment areas such as tear troughs or smile lines

What to Expect

  • You may experience redness and tenderness at the treatment site(s) that can last a few hours to a few days.

  • AVOID applying makeup for the first 24 hours after treatment.
  • You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience mild tenderness or discomfort.
  • Apply an ice or cold gel pack to the area(s) treated (avoiding pressure) to help reduce swelling and bruising.
  • AVOID placing excessive pressure on the treated area(s) for the first few days; when cleansing your face or applying makeup, be very gentle.
  • AVOID exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume other normal activities/routines immediately.
  • AVOID extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
  • 2 WEEKS AFTER treatment, avoid laser treatments.
