The breasts are one of the most feminine body attributes. With age, young, firm breasts begin to look less firm and can begin to droop and sag. After breastfeeding, many women are dismayed with the damage to their breasts.
Breast Lift Procedure Description
This is an outpatient procedure done under general anesthesia. The nipple-areolar complex is repositioned higher, the excess skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped to a pleasing contour and a more youthful position on the chest. The insertion of an implant may or may not be advisable. Implants are used to increase upper pole fullness. Sometimes it is wise to first perform our Seattle breast lift and then insert the implants later. Sutures are placed deep within the breast tissue to support the round shape of the breasts as they take on their final position.
Some patients will have drains overnight. Dr. Egrari utilizes advances surgical techniques and precise incisions to make your scars as inconspicuous as possible. You may be left with fine scars that typically fade over time into an almost imperceptible fine line and are completely concealed with even the most revealing clothing. The procedure usually takes approximately two to three hours. This is followed by recovery in our exquisite recovery suite, after which you can return home to rest. The design of the incisions vary with the level of sagging and the architecture of the breast.
Most commonly, Dr. Egrari uses a vertical (lollipop) lift, which places the incision around the nipple and down to the fold of the breast. Occasionally a periareolar (donut) lift is done, which requires minimal incisions around the areola.
Patients with excessive skin and significant droopiness will need a standard (anchor) lift to achieve the complete restoration. Dr. Egrari strongly believes that the shape should not be compromised to have a smaller scar. Scars fade, but shape remains.
