What Is Tone?

Tone is an innovative cosmetic treatment performed to enhance the strength, shape, and tone of the muscles. The treatment allows patients to improve the definition of their muscles without any incisions, scarring, or significant recovery downtime.

How Does Tone Work?

Tone, which is part of the Empower platform by InMode, works by utilizing electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), which causes the targeted muscles to involuntarily contract. When the muscles rapidly contract, it has essentially the same effect as completing an intense workout. This allows the patient to strengthen and tone their muscles without having to spend nearly as many hours toiling away in the gym.

Where Can Tone Be Used?

Tone treatment can be used to define and strengthen the muscles in many different areas of the body, including:

  • Abdomen
  • Legs
  • Buttocks

Benefits of Tone

Tone is a revolutionary muscle-toning treatment that can offer several significant benefits, including:

  • Strengthens the muscles without going to the gym
  • Enhances the tone and definition of the muscles
  • Non-invasive treatment with no incisions or scarring
  • Little to no recovery downtime
  • Helps to create a more sculpted physique
  • Improved body proportions
  • Improved self-confidence and self-image
  • Saves you time in the gym

What Should I Expect During the Treatment?

Before you undergo Tone treatment, you’ll first sit down for a quick consultation with Dr. Egrari. During this meeting, he’ll ask you about your specific aesthetic goals for the procedure. He’ll also have questions to ensure that you’re a good candidate for the procedure.

Your Tone treatment will be performed as a quick, simple outpatient procedure. Because the treatment generally isn’t painful, there usually isn’t any anesthesia or numbing cream required. During the treatment, one of our providers will apply the Tone applicator device to your muscles in the targeted area. As the device delivers electrical muscle stimulation, you will feel the sensation of your muscles contracting. This may be slightly uncomfortable, but it shouldn’t cause significant pain. In total, each Tone treatment session takes only around 30 minutes, and you can leave the clinic as soon as it’s finished.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

There’s typically no recovery downtime required after undergoing Tone treatment. For a day or two after the session, your muscles will likely feel sore, but it shouldn’t be any more uncomfortable than what you’d normally feel after an intense workout. Most patients can jump back into their normal routines immediately after Tone treatment.

Am I a Candidate for Tone?

Adults looking to enhance the strength and definition of their muscles could be good candidates for Tone. To be an ideal candidate for the treatment, you should:

  • Be in generally good physical health
  • Have the desire to strengthen and tone your muscles
  • Be relatively close to your ideal weight
  • Have realistic expectations for the treatment

How Long Will It Take To See Results After Tone Treatment?

Although every patient is different, you can expect to start seeing improvements in your muscle tone and strength after around two to three weeks. For optimal results, it’s typically recommended that you undergo at least six Tone treatment sessions spaced approximately one week apart.
